Present yourself:

Greetings!

I am an experienced cook/deckhand/ with a combined total of 34 years on commercial fishing vessels (halibut Longliners), and tugboats, and barges in the oil spill prevention and response industry. I have an Able Seaman Unlimited endorsement, and a Tankerman endorsement. Most years I’ve spent on board we’re in rough waters surrounded by the gorgeous scenery of near coastal Alaska. At this point, I’d like to see new territory in warmer climates but I’m willing to sail just about anywhere.

For 11 years I worked mainly in the galley on a tugboat cooking anything the Captains and crews liked. I’ve worked as a manager of a bakery, as a professional cake decorator, as a barista, as a deli manager, as a waitress, a hostess, a prep cook, and a cook. I’ve cooked for a number of people that require a special diet (diabetes, ketogenic, diverticulitis, post surgery, raw food, all organic, juice feasting, etc...)

While on shore, I clean homes professionally as an Independent Contractor. I have also been a live-in caretaker for a handicapped elderly client.

I’m a volunteer event planner for large annual celebrations. I design professional posters, fliers, and online ads for events. I coordinate with vendors, small businesses owners, public officials, and announcers.

I’ve spent many years volunteering with animal rescues fostering over 27 dogs and puppies. I’m a cat lover and a bird lover as well.

While I very much enjoy cooking I’m also interested in pursuing a certification as a massage therapist and I’m quite interested in acquiring a Captain’s license.
