My name is Darko Brusic I am 37 years old. I’m a Deck Officer with more than 10 years of experience. Most of my experience is on RO-RO passenger ferries and bulk carriers but I have experience in other types of ships as well. So far in my career I have to mention that I was captain on floating dry dock which operated in shipyard so I have experience in dry docking, working with ballast pumps, heeling tanks to get correct trim and transverse stability. I also have experience in towing, pushing and maneuvering of dry dock and coordinating with tugboats when we transferred dry dock from one shipyard to other across Adriatic Sea. Beside this experience and skills my knowledge consists of checking safety lists according ISM-SMS,strictly following Company rules, checking fire-fighting equipment, lifeboats and other lifesaving equipment ,correcting charts and publications ,making passage plans,keeping bridge equipment in good working order,familiarize and train crew with their duties according Muster List and security bills, making stability calculations, keeping navigational watch, monitoring of loading and unloading operation, anchorage and mooring operations, organizing people and work etc.
One of my personal goals is to achieve new challenges and experiences in my career and in my personal life, as core personal competencies I consider that the most important are that I'm analytical and good problem-solving, as well as versatile to adapt to different situations.
