Present yourself:
To whom it may concern
My name is Daniel Sangermano, I'm a Captain with 20 years of sea experience. I started my career from the lower ranks,
detremined and target-oriented I've grown personally and professionally, using and developing my leadership and
teamwork skills gradually stepping up in rank. In my sea experience I've been working with crew members of different
nationalities and in multicultiral working environment, thanks to my excellent adaptativitive, communicational and problem
solving skills I've been always able to find my place even in some delicate situations that may occur sometimes onboard.
I've a very good command of the English language (both written and spoken skills), and I know some German and
Spanish. Throughout my yeas spent at sea I've worked on different types of ships: starting from survey vessel "OGS
EXPLORA" where I had the terrific opportuinty to sail to Antartica, passing on huge Containers of Italia Marittima, then
on Ro-Ro ferries in Northern Europe, as Captain on board of tankers in Giuliana Bunkeraggi and, the last couple of
years, on board of ASD and VSP Trieste Harbour Tugs.
In my career I gained an excellent knowledge of safety on board and its all related matters, I've faced to many different
Port Authorities (such as US Coast Guard, Sanitation, Australian coast Guard, Singapore Coast Guard, Italian Coast
Guard,...) and Some of the Recognised Organizations (Rina, BV), during my period as captain in Giuliana Bukeraggi I
had the opportunity to attend an Antipollution Emsa Course since in the Company there was a Tanker partner with the
Mediterrean anti pollution emergency program and, the Tanker I've been boarded on was in the middle of the introdution
of a new Flag, a New SMS and I've been able to be part of this process studying and implementing the brand new
Management System, attending to SMC certificate issuance surveys at the presence of Italian Coast Guard, Rina and
Company DPA. In the last couple of years as Master of Trieste Harbour Tugs, thanks to the particular shift we are on,
there is a continuous rotation among Company's Tugs, so everyone has to face each day a different one from the 7 of
which 4 are ASD and 3 are VSP.
As Trieste Harbour Tugs we are deployed in docking/undocking of Tankers, Containers and Ferries.
It's not uncommon that we get a call to shift barges and take from/to Drydock small to big ships, some of these times,
these movements are even carried out without Pilot assistance.
During our daily shifts, depending on which Tug are we on and on what type of ship we have to assist, we have to
manage different situations and types of maneouver: this requires an high level of understanding and self confidence
with the propulsion system and its effectiveness, extrimely accuracy and technique.
Today I'd like to challange myself againg, I'm keen to start a new working experience, possibly abroad, where I can
exploit my knowledge and skills and succeed.
Sincerely
Daniel Sangermano
