Dear Sir/Madam,
I am an experienced Deckhand/Divemaster,hoping to obtain a permanent/temporary position
that offers longevity and supports career progression. My objection is to secure a Deckhand
position on board. Previously I have been working as a Deckhand/Divemaster sometimes as a
Captain in a five star hotel Turtle bay beach Club. In addition,I have experience in watchkeeping
,night watch duties, maintenance of water sport equipment,Boat maintenance, painting,
varnishing,full washdown,mooring, anchoring,polishing,tender driving,teaching and leading
scuba divers..
Currently I am working as a Sailor with Sijfa Cruises Passenger Ship 105 Meters long in the
Netherlands.. My Responsibilities are, Assist the Captain with performing tasks of Nautical
maintenance, follow safety regulations regarding ship, staff and Guests, as instructed by the
Captain. Report damage, issues and concerns immediately to the Captain Perform works on
deck and in other areas; these works include painting, cleaning floors, carpentry, varnishing,
sanding, scrubbing, cleaning windows, polishing and repairing. Safely deploy the gangway and
secure ship at dock, close off stairway access to the Sundeck when passing low bridges, verify
the operational readiness of the rescue boat co-responsible for the cleanliness on board, the
external appearance of the ship and the Sundeck.
I am a punctual and motivated individual who is able to work in a busy environment and produce
high standards of work. I am an excellent team worker and am able to take instructions from all
levels and build up good working relationships with all colleagues. I am flexible, reliable and
possess excellent time keeping skills.
